Fans have been looking forward to a new type of Mac in 2020 following rumors that Apple is about to release a 12-inch Mac powered by its own Silicon. However, the latest Boot Camp Windows driver update made a specific reference to a 16-inch 2020 MacBook Pro instead.
Upon the release of version 6.1.13 for Boot Camp—a utility used to run Windows on a Mac—users noticed that a section of this update mentioned a 2020 16-inch MacBook Pro, a model that currently doesn’t exist.
“Fixes a stability issue that could occur during heavy CPU load on 16-inch MacBook Pro (2019 and 2020) and 13-inch MacBook Pro (2020),” the statement read.
Creative Bloq mentioned that Apple released its last 16-inch MacBook Pro back in 2019. And despite leaks claiming that the smaller 12-inch notebook is getting Apple’s new processor, this fresh information suggets that the largest MacBook may be getting an overhaul first.
According to Apple leaker Jon Prosser, Apple is rumored to unveil its first Mac with Apple Silicon at an event on 17 November so stay tune.
