Balenciaga’s bizarre campaign shots have got social media users scratching heads.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the luxury brand has had to resort to asking models to pose from the comfort of their own homes, and the results have been interesting.
In a recent shoot, the model is seen eaten alive by a couch while showcasing the brand’s bag, socks and shoe. The image sees the model being sandwiched between the cushions, with one leg sticking out in a rather awkward angle.
Another snap shows a model hiding in a bin bag while showcasing the brand’s shoes, while another has his face warped into a flattened and distorted shape.
Another kooky shot reveals a lemon with pieces of paper in the shape of a mouth, nose and eyes modelling a pair of earrings.
Fans are amused with the strange shoot and have taken to Twitter to voice out their opinions. An Instagram user reposted the images on Instagram Stories, writing, “Sometimes these Balenciaga posts are just dumb. I love the brand… But sometimes this ‘fashion’ I don’t get.”
Others have compared the awkward poses to Zara’s campaigns, where the models often also pose in unexpected positions. “Zara has the weirdest clothes website. Like why is sis moving like spider man?” a Twitter user asked alongside a photo of the model dressed in a yellow suit and perched on a bookcase.
Zara has 24 hours to respond...
