ClearMask has developed a transparent surgical mask that allows you to show your facial expressions, making it easier for people to comprehend each other.
Designed for consumers and the healthcare sector, the mask is reportedly the first FDA-cleared, fully-transparent surgical mask that can be used in hospitals, clinics, schools and other settings.
The mask helps improve visual communication, which is important for establishing rapport and avoiding costly errors. It also provides protection while bringing much-needed relief through a reassuring smile. On top of that, the mask is anti-fog and its transparent plastic barrier design ensures comfort and breathability.
It also meets applicable ASTM Level 3 requirements for fluid resistance and flammability and a high level of protection for medical use. The ClearMask will evidently benefit deaf and hard-of-hearing people, allowing effective communication while providing safety.
ClearMask is available to purchase in 24-pack and 423 pack options, and prices start from US$67.
ClearMask isn’t the first transparent face mask approved by the FDA, but it is the first surgical mask. The organization previously gave the green light to the LEAF Mask, which is an N99+ covering.
