Adobe has launched the first beta version of Photoshop on Apple Silicon, which will run natively on the latest M1 processor.
In its announcement, the company detailed that the beta version isn’t officially supported yet, but will be available for the purpose of feedback.
The beta version excludes a number of features, however, such as Camera RAW, the Spot Healing Brush, and several filters.
The current edition will only run on ARM hardware, so if you have the required hardware but do not see the installer, you should check for an update manually.
All of the 3D-related functions are limited, as Adobe declared that they will either work “very slow” or not render 3D content fully. It also noted that the Select Subject tool “may have bugs due to misclassification.”
Adobe will continue to improve and update its compatibility with the native M1 processor as more issues are documented over time.
