Fuji Q’s Fujiyama rollercoaster is known to offer a spectacular view of Mount Fuji.
Soon, an observation deck will be built to allow non-riders to enjoy views of Mount Fuji, alongside a slider and a walkway.
Fuji Q Highland is set to build the Fujiyama Sky Deck Observatory, which is slated for completion in summer 2021 and is expected to cost 1.07 billion yen (US$10.35 million).
The tower will stand at approximately 55 meters-high (180 feet) and will feature a wedge-shaped deck that allows visitors to enjoy perfect views of the mountain.
There will also be a path, previously used by staff to perform inspections of the tracks, called Fujiyama Walk for daredevil visitors to trail on. Visitors will be attached to harnesses as they walk on the track, no handrails involved.
There will also be a tubular tube, which wraps around the lift shaft at the center of the tower, that will take guests from the observation platform back to the ground.
Fuji Q Highland hopes that the new attraction will lure more tourists to the park come 2021.
