Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting another baby, and they announced it with a sweet black-and-white shot.
British-Nigerian photographer Misan Harriman was behind the image of the couple relaxing under a tree. He revealed to British Vogue that it was easy to capture “their truth” due to their obvious strong bond as “absolute soulmates.”
Harriman shared that he had photographed the pair remotely using an iPad while he was in London and they were in Santa Barbara, California.
The shot saw the couple looking intimate together, with the Prince posing bare-footed while Markle wore a casual, flowing Caroline Herrera dress.
The laidback feel of the pregnancy photo showed the less formal role they have taken on since stepping down as senior members of the royal family.
Harriman told the magazine, “With the tree of life behind them and the garden representing fertility, life and moving forward, they didn’t need any direction, because they are, and always have been, waltzing through life together as absolute soulmates.”
The photographer found it poignant to be asked to share the couple’s joy after their “unimaginable loss and heartache” over Markle’s miscarriage in 2020.
Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honoured to capture it grow. Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news!#remoteshoot #shotonipad #shotbymisan pic.twitter.com/3iSYjydVj9— Misan Harriman (@misanharriman) February 14, 2021
