Estonian rapper Tommy Cash has teamed up with Maison Margiela for a collaborative capsule that includes a pair of slippers resembling a loaf of bread.
The home loafers feature a hybrid Maison Margiela x Tommy Cash branding on the crusty upper, with their insoles looking like the inside of a loaf of bread. Priced at €95 (US$113), the comfortable footwear is packaged in a clear plastic bag just like what you would buy at the grocery store.
The pair is also selling a pack of €12 (US$14) ramen noodles as part of the collaboration. However, the item isn’t intended to be eaten but viewed as more of an art piece. It has the label “Eat at your own risk” printed on the packaging.
If the food-themed items aren’t for you, the duo has also released two pieces of co-branded apparel. You can purchase a black T-shirt and a black-and-white striped sweater with both brandings embroidered on top of each other.
Cash has also released a five-minute track weighing on how the capsule is a comment on consumption. “For most of us, being awake means being bombarded by sound, specifically organized for consumption. The everyday noises of streets, nature, and homes are constantly muted by whatever the algorithms bring,” he said in the track.
You can purchase the four-piece capsule on Cash’s website here.
