Long-term romances don’t have to blossom into a safer, “platonic” kind of situation. Vaginal dryness moisturizer brand Replens MD proves sex lives can be just as lasting in a beautiful campaign aiming to banish stereotypes about intimacy.
The initiative, titled
Sex Never Gets Old, spotlights older people, aged 55 and above, of diverse ethnicities and sexualities getting intimate with their partners. The black and white photos challenge the notion that lovemaking becomes less frequent with age. London-based The Gate Films was behind this stunning campaign.
Rose and Linda, one of the couples featured in the imagery, described, “When you start to get older, people wrongly assume that you stop having sex. We’re proud to work with Replens and be challenging the taboo that sexual intimacy amongst us slightly older folk shrinks with age. We’re firm believers that sex never gets old. If anything, it gets better the more experienced you are!”
The activation was so awe-inspiring, Replens MD was the overall winner for Transport for London’s Diversity in Advertising award. As its prize, the advertisements are being displayed across the transportation network, taking up advertising spaces worth £500,000 (US$692,000).
