Burger King Spain is challenging players of NBA 2K21—the most popular basketball video game—with the promise of free food if they are able to complete tough shots in the pro basketball video game on PlayStation consoles.
The burger chain used in-game editing tools to create a custom court, which is aptly called The Menu Court, featuring several of its menu items.
All players need to do is to complete a shot from the item marker. If successful, they can post a video to Twitter tagging Burger King and NBA2K with the hashtag ‘#BKMenuCourt’ to redeem the real-world equivalent of the menu offering.
If the player manages to ace tougher shots, they will be rewarded with bigger food items. Earning a free burger is relatively straightforward in the game. However, if players wish to win a full meal with fries and a soda, they need to complete a shot from the middle of the court.
The promotion will run through April 4 on PS4 and PS5.
Burger King Spain partnered with creative agency David to create the campaign.
