San Pellegrino is introducing a line of “gently caffeinated” coffee-flavored sparkling water.
The all-new line, dubbed Essenza, contains 30mg of caffeine—and zero calories and sweeteners. While you will not get your caffeine fix like a regular cup of joe, there’ll still be a kick to the beverage.
“Building on the popularity of our S.Pellegrino Essenza, featuring fresh Mediterranean fruit flavors, we turned to Italian coffee bars as inspiration for this new line,” senior marketing manager Sara Mayer said in a press release. “With sophisticated and indulgent hints of vanilla, cocoa, and caramel, and a gentle dose of caffeine, this new offering is the perfect accompaniment to perk up your daily breaks and snack times.”
The flavors are Exotic Vanilla & Coffee, which boasts espresso coffee flavors with vanilla notes; Cocoa & Coffee, which features a rich, smooth cocoa flavor; and Smooth Caramel & Coffee, the perfect caramel-to-coffee balance.
The Vanilla & Coffee version is best consumed with fresh berries and nuts, like pistachios and almonds, while the Cocoa & Coffee is paired best with biscotti, pastries, croissants, or muffins. The Caramel & Coffee flavor is best paired with white cheddar cheese and apple or pear slices.
The Essenza bottles will begin rolling out nationwide this spring in eight-can fridge packs for US$5.99.
