Amazon has introduced the Smart Sticky Note Printer, a printer that pairs with the Alexa voice assistant to help you make quick notes, hands-free.
Simply pair with an Echo device, and ask Alexa to print your shopping lists, to-dos, recipes, puzzles, and more. The best part? No ink is needed. You’ll never run out of ink or toner with this thermal printer.
The device is a concept that is part of Amazon’s ‘Day 1 Editions’ program to bring innovative designs to the public more quickly. How it works: Amazon shares a few of its favorite concepts for new devices that work with Alexa. For a limited time, customers can preorder the devices they want. If an item reaches its preorder goal by a certain date, the company will make it a reality and build it.
If it fall shorts, the preorders are canceled and the idea doesn’t get turned into reality. Past ideas have included Echo Frames, a product which has recently turned into a full-fledged offering by Amazon, according to Spy.
The convenience of being able to dictate your thoughts on the fly is a major reason why the US$114.99 Smart Sticky Note Printer reached its pre-order goal in just three days. Those that managed to secure a preorder will likely receive it sometime between July and September 2021.
Two other products launched alongside the Smart Sticky Note Printer included the Smart Cuckoo Clock and Smart Nutrition Scale. However, these items did not reach the minimum number of preorders and won’t be manufactured.
If the Smart Sticky Note Printer garners rave reviews from its preorders, it’ll only be time before Amazon makes it available to the public.
