To know when your new Mastercard gift card will expire, you may only need to look at its imagery—and that’s not a good thing.
To illustrate the world’s dying wildlife habitats, the credit card company and Conservation International have rolled out Wildlife Impact gift cards featuring Critically Endangered species who might disappear even before the cards are voided.
The gift cards can be used anywhere debit Mastercard is accepted. For every card purchased, Mastercard will donate US$1 to Conservation International to help protect near-extinct species around the world, including the African Forest Elephant, Black-and-White Ruffed Lemur, Peruvian Yellow-Tailed Woolly Monkey, and the Sunda Pangolin.
“Cards expire. Species shouldn’t,” Mastercard describes. The stirring campaign was produced by marketing agency McCann XBC
