With Photoshop on iPad functioning closely to the full-fledged desktop version, Adobe sees little need for less productive apps. It is thus sunsetting support for Photoshop Mix and Photoshop Fix, two streamlined photo-editing apps for mobile users, and removing them from the Apple App Store.
Adobe made the announcement on an FAQ page detailing the “End of Support” for Photoshop Fix, an app focused on retouching photos, and Photoshop Mix, which is built with more advanced tools like Content-Aware Fill and Camera Shake Reduction. Both will disappear from the App Store on June 21, 2021.
Users who already have these apps installed on their iPhones will still be able to use them—at least for now—but they will no longer receive updates.
With no full-featured Photoshop for Android devices yet, Adobe currently intends to keep Photoshop Mix and Fix on the Google Play Store.
The company recommends iOS users who still wish to enjoy free access to Photoshop features to move on to Photoshop Express, an “all-in-one” photo-editing mobile app that includes “your favorite features, tools, plus more, from Photoshop Fix and Photoshop Mix.”
