Playboy Magazine’s Tongue-In-Cheek ‘Word Play’ Will Turn Typography Lovers On

Here’s why the articles in Playboy magazine are just as, if not more than, important as the pictures.
Back in the 1970s, Robert Carola wrote a ‘Word Play’ column for the men’s publication which was filled with naughty visual puns. For instance, he’d exaggerate the “w” in “Lowcut” to depict breasts and shrink the “i” in “Humility” to reduce the sense of self.
The cheeky metaphors are still celebrated today. One page, in fact, floated to the peripheries of the r/Graphic_Design subreddit this week.
