Hong Kong-based blockchain metaverse platform DeNations is branching out into art, holding an offline exhibition to celebrate artwork in the exciting new form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Its new collaboration project, the DeNations Art Chain, is described in the press release as “a decentralized ecosystem where various talented artists can easily and sustainably produce valuable NFT arts.” The art is issued as NFT in the blockchain, and released in “blocks.” The first is titled Lost.
Contemporary artist Jeon Byeong Sam was chosen to create the pieces, producing 193 iterations of various national flags. Each country’s flag is created as a digital image, which then disintegrates into a more abstract, striped image. This is made possible by decomposing and recombining one pixel at a time.
His works are exhibited in the offline exhibition, titled Rumination: Nations in Metaverse, held at MCM Haus Museum, Seoul.
Owners of the Lost NFT get benefits such as art farming after registration at the virtual museum, DGDP virtual nation boosting, and block rewards. Of course, they also get the stunning, innovative artwork.
In order to familiarize more users with the concept of NFTs, DeNations is hosting a giveaway eventwhere you can claim a free Special Art NFT. Holders of the NFT will get the same art farming and DGDP-boosting benefits described above. What an exciting time to own art.
