Following Montblanc’s 2020 Writers Edition paying homage to French writer Victor Hugo, this year’s series honors Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a British author and practicing physician, and began his literary career when he was 27. His first book, A Study in Scarlet, which saw the introduction of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, was astonishingly written in just three weeks.
This year will mark the 120th anniversary of Doyle’s novel The Hound of Baskervilles, where he reintroduced Holmes at the behest of his fans. In total, he wrote 60 stories about Holmes and Watson, which have spun off into countless movies and television adaptations since.
According to Forbes, Montblanc’s new collection is inspired by the many tales of Sherlock Holmes, and extraordinary life of Doyle himself.
On each of the four variations, the clip is shaped to resemble a magnifying glass – an essential tool on many of Holmes’ sleuthing adventures. The author’s likeness is also engraved on every nib, accompanied by a special story element from a particular theme.
The four editions include: the Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Limited Edition 8, the Limited Edition 97, the Limited Edition 1902, and the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Writers Edition.
Take a look at them below.
