Tesla has updated its Autopark feature with the new Tesla Vision system, which will now be integrated into its cars’ Autopilot and Full-Self Driving Beta functions.
Previously, the company’s Autopark function had relied on ultrasonic sensors to work. Drivers said that this limited the feature to only working when there were vehicles on either side of a parking spot. Now, it’s moved the feature to a vision-only system, removing the radar sensors from new Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.
With the vision-based technology, the feature can guide a driver into a parking zone even without vehicles by its sides. It’s also able to detect parking lines, improving the car’s ability at centering as it backs into a spot.
A Tesla insider, who goes by ‘Green’, has tested the new feature on his own car. He told Electrek that while he didn’t make use of the previous iteration of the feature, he believes the new version is better at helping the car stop closer to the curb.
The updated Autopark feature is currently only available in the new Model S cars, though Tesla is expected to integrate it into the rest of its vehicles, along with a wider release of its Full Self-Driving Beta, which also uses the vision-based technology.
Well, tested the new "Tesla autopark" that Tesla only deploys to refresh model S for whatever reason now.

It is camera based (unlike previous ultrasonic-only implementation) so it can use just drawn parking lines and also centers in them rather good unlike the USS version pic.twitter.com/ZTi7Q4VAEN
