In July, fans of Chanel received news that the fashion house was
racking up prices on its luxury bags once again. Its classic offerings were reportedly going to cost 9% to 15% more, depending on the model.
Now, the maison has made even more changes, with the introduction of a new sales policy for its beloved Classic Flap Bag and Coco Handle Bag. According to
HIGHXTAR, customers will be limited to only one bag each year.
For its other leather goods, one will no longer be able to purchase more than two items per year, either.
While some buyers may be put off by the ever-increasing prices, the new exclusivity rules will probably help to drive even more demand for the brand.
Others could turn to the resale market, which could see a surge in Chanel offerings as early owners try to cash in on the growing appetite for the house’s most coveted silhouettes.
