When it comes to tech that helps you find your stuff, Tile is one of the iconic names that may come to mind, having been at this game long before Apple’s AirTags.
On Tuesday, Tile announced a new lineup of products that boast a larger finding range and a more convenient, efficient way for items to be tracked down.
Among these is the new Tile Ultra, which uses Bluetooth and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology to deliver a Point and Locate featured in augmented reality (AR).
With this, it’s said that Ultra will be capable of “highly accurate visual finding,” with cues displayed right on the user’s smartphone in real-time to allow them to locate their misplaced items with ease. Forget rummaging through a cluttered drawer trying to find something that’s “nearby” but is, in reality, behind the cabinet.

Tile has said that it’s working with Google to create “an optimal experience” on smartphones running Android 12 and are compatible with UWB. But Apple users, don’t worry—this will also be compatible with iOS when it’s released in early 2022.
Other announcements by the company include improvements to the existing lineup, which comprises the Pro, Mate, Slim, and Sticker. Finding power has been boosted up to 400 feet for the Pro, and 250 feet for the other three. And, a louder ring has been incorporated for even quicker finding.
‘Lost and Found’ is an additional new feature that incorporates QR codes into all products except the Sticker. This will enable anyone who comes across it to scan it and contact the owner to hopefully arrange for the retrieval of the item.
The Pro, Mate, Slim, and Sticker are now available, with prices starting from US$24.99. Meanwhile, Tile Ultra is scheduled to arrive early next year.
