Collectors have a chance to get their hands on one of the rarest vehicles in history, as a mint Ferrari 599 SA Aperta—boasting a customized Hermès interior—heads to auction on Paddlup.
The sports car, released in 2011, is one of only 30 models ever produced, and stands out from the rest of the pack with its exclusive features. According to Robb Report, the four-wheeler was created to pay tribute to the Prancing Horses’ design partner, Carrozzeria Pininfarina.

It especially honors the heads of the Pininfarina family, Sergio and Andrea, who were behind some of the most coveted cars Ferrari has ever produced. Hence, the vehicle was named “SA,” after the duo’s initials, and “aperta,” which refers to the open top in Italian.
The car’s body features gold fleck paint by Nero Stellato, and its interiors are decked out in Hermès signature orange leather. Its original owner also had it fitted out with carbon-backed racing seats, so drivers feel as though they’re in a real race car.

Internally, the SA Aperta boasts a six-liter V-12 engine, paired with the brand’s special six-speed automated manual paddle-shift transmission, aptly named the ‘F1 SuperFast’. With 661 horsepower and 475 ft lbs of torque, it’s certainly capable of incredible cruising speed.
As expected, lots of interest has been generated since the vehicle’s listing went up. As of now, the car has garnered over 1,000 views, with three bids clocked in.
The highest bid currently stands at £800,000 (US$1,100,000), with the asking price still £50,000 (US$70,000) away. The auction will last for 17 more days, so it’s best to be quick if you’ve got your eye on this beauty.
