Gucci is a fashion house, and not a name many would associate with cars. In the late 70s, however, the brand teamed up with Cadillac to create the Seville by Gucci car, designed by founder Aldo Gucci himself.
And, more recently, Gucci collaborated with Mattel to create a 1:64 replica of the legendary Seville by Gucci Cadillac car as part of its centennial celebrations. Unfortunately, though, it’s now sold out.
Not to fear, though. You can still own the car—kind of—in Hot Wheels Unleashed, an arcade-style video game built on the iconic Hot Wheels toys franchise.
Players will be able to not just race some iconic cars like the Aston Martin DB5 1963 or a Snoopy-inspired cartoonish vehicle, but they’ll also be able to design their own tracks with the Track Builder and customize the vehicles’ design with the Livery Editor.
Gucci will be working with its developers, Milestone Games, to bring its iconic vehicle to life on a much more attainable level than the previous two versions of the car.
Just like the original 70s vehicle and its successor replica, the in-game iteration sports the iconic ‘G’ crest on its top, gold piping along the seats, special badging, a luxurious gold Gucci hood ornament, and matching wheel emblems.
In addition to the scale model and its feature in the video game, Gucci also drew upon the talents of three artists —illustrator H3C, and miniature set photographers Duane Shoots Toys and Felix Hernandez Dreamphography—to come up with some stunning imagery starring the Hot Wheels x Gucci Cadillac Seville.
