Lufthansa Technik, a sister company of the German aviation company, has created an all-new party concept plane for the one-percenters which comes with its very own nightclub. Named the ‘Explorer’, the A330 aircraft features glass floors, a whole gym, garage for cars, double bedrooms, and a veranda.
Not to mention, a state-of-the-art projection system will display a range of backdrops onto the plane’s walls and ceilings, letting you feel as if you’re in the middle of an underwater adventure or floating in outer space. This could open new doors in luxury travel, with flights taking on the same status as superyachts.

“In yacht building, multifunctional exploration vessels have now become a class in their own right. And many owners of such vessels also call an aircraft their own. For this fast-growing target group of VIP world explorers, we have therefore now created a flying platform for the first time,” said Wieland Timm, Head of Sales VIP & Special Mission Aircraft Services.
The biggest thing setting a luxury flight experience apart from a yacht is the incredible reduction in travel time. The Explorer would allow passengers to travel to another country in just hours, while you’d usually have to spend days or weeks on a ship. The pandemic has seen the demand for private planes soar, as the one percenters find more exclusive ways to travel.

In fact, according to Stuff, Qatar Airways released the world’s first Gulfstream G700 luxury jet in September. For those who can afford to fly in style, the aircraft comes with “an extra-large galley with lounge or crew compartment, up to five living areas, and a spacious, unparalleled grand suite with en suite washroom.”
At the moment, the concept design can seat 12 passengers, though the firm says it can be expanded to fly up to 47 people at once. Would someone be willing to shell out US$427 million—the expected price of the model—for the exclusive experience, though?
