McDonald’s In China Lets You Burn Calories As You Pig Out On Exercise Bike Seats
By Mikelle Leow, 20 Dec 2021
Although it seems counterproductive to order a salad and nothing else at McDonald’s, diners can now up their fitness game by working out as they pig out to… offset their calorie intake?
This bizarre revelation was shared with the internet by TikTok user Chris Yu, whose video of a new contraption at a supposed McDonald’s location in China has garnered millions of views on both TikTok and Instagram.
As documented by the user, the fast-food outlet seems to have allocated a few corner tables to serve as stationary bikes, mounted to the wall, with ‘wheels’ branded by the Golden Arches logo. The equipment allows diners to pedal as they munch down on their nosh.
The clip sees one customer eating a burger from one hand and downing a soda from the other. Next to her, a diner snacks on fries and looks at his phone while cycling.
“That’s worse than ordering a diet Coke at McDonald’s,” one viewer comments.
It’s all about choosing the right place to implement an idea. These exercise bikes could be useful for time-strapped users at coworking spaces, but at a McDonald’s? Hmm.
