iPhone 13 Bug That Makes Screens Pink Is Turning Users Red
By Mikelle Leow, 25 Jan 2022

iPhone users might be familiar with the dreaded “green line of death,” but another hue is now irking some owners of Apple’s latest smartphone series.
As reported by 9to5Mac, iPhone 13 owners have been complaining of a bug that turns their displays pink. Along with the appearance of this overlay, screens will crash and users will have to restart their phones to be able to use them again.
The issue has been brought up in several discussion threads, including Apple’s official forum and Reddit. It seems there isn’t a specific sequence that triggers this problem; some people reported the bug appearing when GPS was in use, while others just said their phones were randomly affected. The only similarity, apparently, is that the bug is tied to models of the iPhone 13 lineup.

Apple has offered free replacements for some of the affected iPhones but not to everyone, as it says the problem is to do with the software instead of the hardware.
According to Chinese blog My Drivers, the bug mostly plagues smartphones in China, so Apple has actually published a statement in the country asking users to backup their data and install the latest iOS update as a possible fix.
It’s unclear if a patch for the pink screen has indeed been rolled out, though. The color might still be forced into the peripherals of users, unlike for gender reveal parties, where they can always opt out.
