Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could have farther-reaching economic impact than originally thought, adding onto supply chain woes by causing additional shortages for automakers, such as Porsche.

According to Motor1, the brand will be temporarily halting production at some of its factory locations, and could eventually affect all of its cars.

A tweet by Caleb J Schroëter claims the shutdown began on March 2 for the Macan and Panamera models, with the Taycan following suit a day later.

It said Cayenne production ceased on March 7, with the 718 and 911 poised to stop on March 14 and March 17 respectively.

Currently, there’s no mention of when production will get back on track, though it’s likely that would be subjected to how the ongoing conflict and supply chain issues develop.

“In the coming days and weeks, we will operate on a short-term basis and continuously reassess the situation,” a company spokesperson told the site.

As per Robb Report, the news comes soon after Porsche, which operates 26 dealerships in Russia, announced it would stop all deliveries into the country.

The brand has also stepped up to donate US$1.1 million towards emergency measures for Ukrainians suffering from the invasion.
