According to Decrypt, the collection shared information showing it had made a transaction of 388.999 ETH to assist those caught in the crossfire, saying it was inspired by its members’ contributions.
‘It’s been inspiring seeing our community come together in support of Ukraine,” it tweeted.
At the moment, BAYC holds the second spot on OpenSea’s rankings, having made over 417,000 ETH (US$1 billion) in secondary sales, with the floor price of the NFT now going for over 50 ETH.
Bitcoin.com reported that thus far, US$40.58 million worth of Ethereum-based assets have been donated to Ukraine following the invasion, with over US$90.55 collected in cryptocurrency overall.
It's been inspiring seeing our community come together in support of Ukraine - almost $1m in ETH has been donated to @Ukraine by wallets containing a BAYC ecosystem NFT. Today we're matching that with a $1m ETH donation of our own. ð¦♥ï¸ðºð¦
