Lululemon, Fenty Beauty Among Brands Voicing Support For Abortion Access
By Nicole Rodrigues, 06 Jun 2022

A bevy of beauty and fashion brands are voicing their support for abortion access. They have pledged allegiance to the Don’t Ban Equality initiative. Brands such as Lululemon, Fenty Beauty, Glossier, Levi Strauss & Co, Patagonia, and H&M were among 62 brands to join the relaunching of Don’t Ban Equality.
A leaked draft of a Supreme Court opinion threatens to overturn the Roe v. Wade verdict and affirm state legislators the power to implement anti-abortion legislation. This pushed the organization to gather the support of different businesses as a way to promote equal and ethical rights of not only the people working within the organization but the consumers as well.
Don’t Ban Equality was set up in 2019 after there was an alarming increase of states where access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare, including abortion, is restricted. It gained the backing of hundreds of companies that supported the equal health rights of people and stood against laws that threatened the freedom of people to make their own health choices. The organization also aimed to pledge diverse and inclusive workplaces.
This initiative provides brands a way to clearly state their stance and voice support. The deadline for companies to join the movement is June 6.
