Pepsi Launches Crisp Soda Exclusively Enhanced To Pair With Fried Chicken

While Pepsi has previously released colorless sodas—beginning with the Crystal Pepsi—the brand is now for the first time debuting a beverage specifically tailored to enhance the flavor of karaage chicken, a popcorn chicken-style dish popular in Japan.

Aptly dubbed the Pepsi Karaage Senyo Cola (Pepsi Cola Exclusively for Fried Chicken), the special drink serves a rather niche purpose by minimizing the greasiness of fried chicken and refreshing the diner’s palate with each sip. 

With the Karaage cola, the brand has dialed back on the sweetness of its typical formulation, adding dietary fiber to cut through the oiliness of fried food, thus allowing diners to feel refreshed mid-way through their meals with zero additional calories. 

As per grape Japan, the new drink will be available throughout Japan starting from June 14, 2022. Fancy a sip?
