It’s time to take a joyride into the past. On June 16, its 119th anniversary, Ford opened the Ford Heritage Vault, releasing an entire trove of archival gems to browse and download for free.
The collection comprises over 5,000 old photographs, product brochures, and more available for car enthusiasts and journalists alike to explore the company’s rich history. Ford booted up the vault with the help of its employees and retirees, as well as students from Wayne State University’s library and information science program.
The assets are free for personal and editorial use, so feel free to print them out as posters. According to Ford, the images are a testament to the design and functionality evolution of its automobiles.

To ensure everyone gets to enjoy this trip down memory lane, Ford has introduced accessibility features to the site, including assistive technology for the visually impaired and image translations.
“These assets were born analog, and we have worked hard to bring them to the digital world,” says Ciera Casteel, an archivist involved in the project. “But digitizing isn’t enough. It was important to us that the Heritage Vault is accessible for everyone to enjoy.”
