Honda’s New Car, Harvey, Voices And Stars In Its Own Ad
By Nicole Rodrigues, 29 Jun 2022
When considering buying a new car, any potential buyer will want to hear all about the specifications and details of it before deciding. With perky salespeople harping on you to make a commission off the car it can be dull to listen to them drone on. So, who better to tell you all about the car than the car itself?
Meet Harvey, the new spokescar for Honda’s new HR-V. Produced by creative agency Leo Burnett, Harvey was given a voice and AI brain since no one else would be more suited to educate people on its own fam.
Harvey takes its spot among its inspirations, Siri, Alexa, and just about every other voice-activated device out there. It effectively turns the car-buying process on its head as you no longer have to go through dealers to find the perfect fit. You could just hear it straight from the horse’s mouth—or the car’s mouth, in this case.
Comedian Sam Taunton was brought on board for the project where Harvey’s AI system learned to copy his voice, giving the car comedic inflictions to its tone.
Harvey’s ecosystem includes Google Voice and Facebook Messenger on its own webpage that allows potential buyers to question its specs. From fuel gages to braking suspensions to mileage and even down to dating advice, you can ask Harvey anything and it will gladly give you an answer.
