White Claw Creates Cooling Mural To Help Londoners Beat The Heat
By Nicole Rodrigues, 20 Jul 2022
As temperatures scorch the UK, locals have never been more desperate to chill. Beverage company White Claw Hard Seltzer has heard the cries of the people and has put up a literally cool mural for those still wandering out in the sun.
The Cool Wall billboard, located on 83 Redchurch Street in Shoreditch, is an almost 20-foot-long mural. Frosty blue waves and ice cubes have been painted onto the wall, but it doesn’t just conjure up images of cold weather; anyone who touches it will feel cold as well.
Under the painting are cooling mats with touch-activated gel centers that work to absorb the heat of the person feeling it. The billboard is then coated in a heatproof–or frost-fueled–paint that protects the strips.
A thermometer has also been built into the mural for the public to check just how glacial this artwork can get.
Passersby can head up to the wall to rest their backs or foreheads against the wall, or even hug it, to cool their entire bodies down in this hellish heat.
White Claw intends to leave the mural up for two weeks to aid Londoners through this unprecedented heatwave and give them an icy sanctuary to lean on.
