Metallica Designs Its Own Turntable For Metalheads To Rock Out To Vinyl
By Nicole Rodrigues, 18 Aug 2022
Metallica aims to be the Master Of Puppets Turntables with its very own uniquely-designed deck to blast its music from.
The deck, created in tandem with Austrian sound equipment maker and long-time collaborator Pro-Ject Audio Systems, the music player notably sports a base in the shape of the music group’s famous Star motif.
The Metallica logo has been turned into an MDF plinth which is topped with a mirror-finish metal plate and a heavy glass table.
There is also an 8.6” S-shaped aluminum tonearm, VTA tracking, and anti-slip functions so that you can headbang to your favorite tunes without being interrupted.
The Metallica-inspired record player measures 16.9” by 4.7” by 16.9” and would make a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-worthy addition to your living space.
Band-themed decks are on the rise as of late, with electronic dance group Swedish House Mafia recently releasing its own turntable with IKEA.
The Pro-Ject Metallica hi-fi will be on sale later this summer at a price of US$1,599.
