Hendrick’s Gin Is Saving Rare, ‘Curious Cucumbers’ By Mailing Them To Customers
By Alexa Heah, 08 Sep 2022

Fans of Hendrick’s Gin will know that the brand’s great-tasting secret lies in just two ingredients: rose and cucumber.
Thus, to protect six rare cucumber species across the world, the alcohol brand is offering consumers a special mail-order box to taste these fruits at home, in hopes of growing their popularity and preserving their existence.
For US$48, customers will receive the ‘Curious Cucumber Collection’—featuring cucamelon, African horned, Hmong red, muromsky, gagon, and The Aonaga Jibai cucumbers—grown by The Chef’s Garden, a company specializing in heirloom vegetables.
You can choose to snack on them as is, or try your hand at one of Hendrick’s famed cocktails, with full recipes available online, ranging from a refreshing lemonade to a glass of ‘Spicy and Sublime’.
The brand also wants to add to your knowledge of the ingredient, providing a FAQ page on common questions about cucumbers, including how cool they truly are—the answer: 20 degrees cooler on the inside than on the surface.
Head here to try six of the world’s rarest and most delicious cucumbers.
