Remember when Pokémon GOwas first released, and the world was finally motivated to take walks outdoors? Well, here’s hoping such scenes repeat next year, when the creators of the ultra-popular augmented reality (AR) game take on the Marvel multiverse.
The forthcomingMARVEL World Of Heroes mobile game will see players become their very own unique superheroes, extending gameplay beyond the screen into the real world just as Niantic did with the Pokémon franchise.
According to the company, the character avatar system within the release will allow for players to express different body types, gender identities, and even customize outfits; encouraging a diverse world of local heroes, each with their own flair.
Furthermore, the makers revealed the game will not comprise just a single version of the Marvel Universe.
Rather, players will be able to travel to multiple alternative realities, enabling them to interact with different characters and stories while at the same location.
To sign up for the game’s upcoming soft launch, head here, or hang on tight for the full launch come 2023.
