Part of whyanime food is so alluring is because it’s forbidden.
That’s where thisPokémon pizza comes in (side note: does anyone know what kind of meat characters have been munching on in the animated series? The thought sure takes the innocence out of the show). Shaped like a Poké Ball, it’s a very real meal that comes straight out of the ovens of Domino’s Pizza in South Korea.
What international fans call the Poké Ball is known as a “Monster Ball” in Japanese and Korean. This pizza lives up to that name; it’s a large pie with pizza sauce on the top half and truffle cream sauce at the bottom. According to Brand Eating, it features toppings like pepperoni, roasted cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and ricotta.
Lining the ‘opening’ are slices of beef in a sweet bulgogi barbecue sauce.
Fans can catch all ’em toppings—at the price of ruining the entire aesthetic—by adding things like pineapple chunks, olives, and an additional layer of cheese on top of the pie.
The pizza is being dressed up ahead of Halloween. Continuing the theme, it’s delivered in a spooky, holographic Pokémon-themed box.
