Ralph Lauren Benches Its Pony For A Llama In Co-Branded ‘Fortnite’ Polo Logo
By Nicole Rodrigues, 01 Nov 2022
Ralph Lauren’s Pony Polo emblem may be one of the most recognizable logos of all time. However, for the first time since the brand’s inception 55 years ago, the jockey player is switching from riding a horse to Fortnite’s llama mascot in honor of a collaboration with the hit battle royale game.
Fortnite is no stranger to helping launch numerous other brands into the metaverse through tie-ins with unique skins and mini-games.
Its latest ‘phygital’ link-up with Ralph Lauren will see a new set of skins inspired by the brand’s aesthetic land in the game and physical clothing available through the fashion brand’s online store.
This capsule collection plasters the new llama logo and Fortnite digital skin-inspired design on sweaters and polo shirts. In addition, a replica of an in-game boot will also be created for fans to wear in real life.
Within the game itself, fans can find ‘Polo 1991’ jumpsuits, coats, and bags dotted with the Ralph Lauren Polo motif. There is also a special set of weaponry in the shape of mallets that will be used as blasters.
To celebrate the partnership, the fashion brand will host a virtual live-stream concert hosted by rapper Polo G. This will be followed up by a special Fortnite game tournament.
The physical collection is set to drop on November 2 and again in early December, with prices ranging between US$59.50 and US$188. At the same time, its digital counterpart will be available from November 5 till November 12 and will cost 1,500 VBUX, or US$6.
