Samsung Introduces Smart Refrigerator That Comes With Its Own 32-Inch TV
By Alexa Heah, 30 Dec 2022
We’re not sure who’s ever thought, “I sure wish my refrigerator came with a bigger display screen,” but Samsung is leading the charge on bringing larger monitors to the staple kitchen appliance.
With CES 2023 around the corner, the South Korean technology giant has unveiled its latest-edition Family Hub Plus smart fridge, now featuring a 32-inch touch display as compared to the 21 inches from the previous models.
The wider screen gives families more room to display memorable pictures, collate joint shopping lists, control SmartThings devices around the home, or even watch videos while washing the dishes.
According to Engadget, in addition to the larger display, Samsung has added new support for Google Photos as a complement to its previous integration of OneDrive. Customers can now upload pictures from a mobile device onto the refrigerator, or display artwork from the firm’s own Atelier application.
The SmartThings home control center comes to life with a larger area to work with, allowing you to adjust six different services at once, including air quality, home care, pet care, clothing care, energy output, and cooking.
Of course, entertainment’s a big factor when it comes to having a screen, and Samsung is offering Samsung TV Plus with the appliance, allowing viewers in the US to watch up to 190 television channels for free.
Want even more convenience? If you ever find yourself running out of ingredients, simply use Amazon’s Your Essentials service to order refills directly from the touchscreen.
More details on the Family Hub Plus and its pricing will be released at CES 2023 next month.
