Giant Sticky Notes Across UK Remind Voters To Bring Photo ID To Polls
If there’s one thing you don’t want on election day, it’s the hundreds of voters realizing they haven’t brought their identification to the polls.
As such, the UK Electoral Commission has placed giant sticky notes across the country to remind eligible citizens to bring along their photo ID.
In collaboration with advertising agency McCann Demand, the Note to Self campaign features a quirky one-minute television advertisement that depicts everyday citizens encountering massive post-it notes during their daily lives.
A lady can be seen staring at a yellow post-it on a block of flats across from her window, while a group of bikers spots one near a bridge. Even a couple that just got married finds their guests distracted by a massive note at the registrar’s building.
According to The Drum, the spot will appear on digital, print, radio, social, out-of-home, and even in-game media to reach the widest audience.
Lucy Hudson, Managing Director at McCann Demand, explains that the campaign chose “the humble sticky note” to craft a message that was as accessible and easy to understand as possible.
Take a look at the advertisement below, and if you’re heading to the polls—don’t forget your photo ID!
