3D software application company Leia Inc. is introducing the Lume Pad 2, a 3D tablet that will be the first to be powered by artificial intelligence. The device places captivating content and creation programs into its users’ hands. It also claims to be the first to equip these apps with the ability to be backed by smart AI models for assistance.

Multiple display layers within the tablet allow for immersive experiences, whether they be gaming, watching shows, or even talking to someone on a video call. Yes, your friends and family can now pop out of your screen in real-time while you’re on a call.

The company states it is the “only App in the world that offers true-to-life 3D chat (as opposed to digital avatars).” It does this with AI face tracking, which lets the person you’re chatting with pop out of your screen. Though, it should be noted that the recipient also needs to have their own Lume Pad 2 for this to happen.

If you want to unleash the inner artist within you, Leia has teamed up with Stable Diffusion to integrate text-to-image AI models into its tablet. As a result, you can turn anything the generator creates into 3D art when using it. But if you wish to stick to your creations, you can use the Leia Viewer app, which allows you to upload your work and view it in 3D instead.

Next up is the ability to take pictures in 3D. This AI-guided app will allow users to capture the world around them as they see it. It states that the tablet is embedded with a 3D camera that can capture images in high levels of depth and detail. Once you have a photo, you can even upload it to its in-house social networking site, LeiaPix.

The Lume Pad 2 is now ready for registration here and is retailing for US$1,099.
