‘Blender’ 3D App Fuses With Stability AI To Make Animations, Textures From Text

As artificial intelligence seeps into mainstream technology, the industry is no doubt working overtime to come up with the next “best” innovation. AI art generators have expanded into generating two avatars at once, and now, will evolve into creating 3D images just from text.
Popular 3D modeling software Blender has partnered Stability AI to introduce a brand-new ‘Stability for Blender’ tool, which will merge Stable Diffusion’s image creation technology with the open-source generator.

This will allow users to create animations, textures, and effects using material from their own renders or a simple text description. As Engadget pointed out, this could be significant, as it means creatives may no longer need to rely on a 2D artist to complete such projects.
Instead of having to purchase prohibitively expensive hardware, Stability for Blender will enable users to transform existing creations with post-processing effects and keyframe all properties for image generation, with a built-in animation system able to automate properties within the tool.

The feature is currently free to use, though it requires an API key and internet connection to run. Even better, the program doesn’t need users to download any particular software or have a dedicated GPU—so tasks can be completed on the go.
“With the ability to generate textures and videos directly within Stable Diffusion, users can streamline workflows, reduce context, switch between different software and tools, improve collaboration, and create highly customizable assets that reduce both time and cost,” the company said.
