Gucci’s New ‘Continuum’ Line Stitches Together Vans Shoes From Old Fabric
By Nicole Rodrigues, 17 Mar 2023

Straight out of the Gucci Vault is a new collection called ‘Continuum’, which works with brands such as Vans and opens up its archive of old Gucci scraps to fashion all new items.
Within the collaboration, the skating label dives into Alessandro Michele’s roster of patterns and fabric. It has picked out old garments and accessories and turned them into the ultimate mashup while keeping sustainability at its core.

For example, the Old Skool has a leather toe box lined with studs, a floral canvas, and gingham checkered prints on the eyelet panels and tongue.
The Slip-On mixes Gucci’s yellow checkered-stitched leather with floral patterns. Studs also dot along the kicks to add a little edge to them. Vans even pulls out patchwork floral prints that took center stage during Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2017 collection and spun them into an OG Mule fit for the skatepark and fashion week.

Continuum isn’t only saddling up with Vans. It’s working with various other brands, including Rave Review, Alice Pons, Collina Strada, EGONlab, Call of the Void, Alpha Industries x Slam Jam, and more, to overhaul vintage fabric into designs that translate both brands’ visions.

All pieces from each brand are available on the Gucci Vault site.
