Adidas Creates Women’s World Cup Away Kits Soaked In Nature From Each Country

Adidas is breathing some nature into fabricated fields with new away kits it has designed for its partnering national teams at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. 

The latest batch celebrates the scenic gems of Argentina, Colombia, Germany, Japan, Spain, and Sweden. Previously, the sportswear giant presented designs for the Costa Rica, Italy, and Jamaica federations, and it intends to introduce uniforms for Team Philippines over the next few months.

From the deep green woodlands of Germany to the pink sunrise at Mount Fuji in Japan and the multicolors of the Caño Cristales River in Colombia, the jerseys capture the purest scapes that each country has to offer.

In line with the uniforms’ eco-loving qualities, all the kits—authentic and replica versions alike—are crafted from 50% Parley Ocean Plastic, which is upcycled waste found approaching oceans; and 50% recycled polyester.

“With the tournament being held in Australia and New Zealand—two countries with iconic landscapes—we wanted to create a common theme throughout our kits, in celebration and appreciation of the wonders of the natural environments that can be found around the world,” explains Sam Handy, Vice President Product and Design at Adidas Football.

It goes without saying that Adidas’ sports-optimized technology is stitched into these World Cup kits. For the Argentina, Colombia, Germany, Japan, and Spain variations, the brand has fortified them with s cooling ‘HEAT.RDY’ system, while the Sweden kit is incorporated with absorbent and moisture-wicking ‘AEROREADY’ technology.
