Last month, customers looked on in shock as a Doritos billboard went up in flames in front of a Burger King outlet, lighting up the duo’s partnership and bringing a literal meaning to the fast food chain’s “flame grilling” slogan.
Now, the burger restaurant has once again hijacked Doritos’ advertisements, placing adhesive notes atop its outdoor posters asking the latter to slide into its DMs. The humorous idea was created in partnership with the advertising agency Splendid Communications.
According to The Drum, this tongue-in-cheek campaign follows the launch of the new chip-coated chicken fries featuring the latter’s popular Chilli Heatwave flavor. At first, fans thought the newly-launched dish was an April’s Fool joke, but the advertisements have since confirmed it.
Katie Evans from Burger King UK told the publication that the Doritos Chilli Heatwave Chicken Fries does indeed exist and is the latest product to come out of this exciting collaboration between the two brands.
Fingers crossed that Burger King and Doritos continue cooking up more exciting launches in the future.
