‘Streaming Undies’ Let You Binge-Watch Shows Right On Your Partner’s Butt

It wouldn’t be a reach to suggest that the prevalence of screen time could be one of the leading causes for dwindling intimacy between partners, but what if you could merge the two? That’s what Maison Pixel, the brand behind “pixelated” underwear and swimwear, is suggesting.
In collaboration with creative agency Atlantic New York, the company is launching the world’s first television screen on your bottoms—‘The Streaming Undies’—which are a pair of underwear that works as a streaming platform right on one’s buttocks.
The undergarment uses a chroma-key color material compatible with a specially-designed Instagram filter that can be used on all iOS and Android devices. Simply place a smartphone camera on top of the underwear, and boom, users will be able to watch whatever they want.
Keeping in line with the “pixel” aesthetic, the campaign commercials don’t feature human couples but opt for mannequins instead. Three spots show doll-like figures switching from staring at their phones to watching a baseball game, the Moon landing, and more on the other’s backside.
Sebastião Teixeira and Cesária Martins, founders of Maison Pixel, told LBB Online that since bigger fashion houses have turned to the use of pixels, the brand had to come up with a creative and innovative idea to carve out its own space in the market.
Hence, the idea of launching a new collection that turns underwear into a streaming platform. The duo hopes that the quirky garment will not only bring good fun to customers’ lives, but also inspire wearers to find new ways to spice it up.
