Beats Studio Buds Plus Launch With Refreshing See-Through Look
By Mikelle Leow, 18 May 2023
After making fans wait for a good two years, Beats By Dre has finally made the upgrade to Beats Studio Buds clear as day, and we mean that almost literally.
The Beats Studio Buds+ boast better sound quality, improved active noise cancellation, “crystal-clear” calls, and longer battery life. All told, these features are currently outshined by the gadget’s colorways, which include Ivory, Black/Gold… and the indisputable crowd favorite, Transparent.
With the translucent option, you can make out all the wiring in the earbuds and case, making them a worthy aesthetic contender for the partially transparent Nothing Ear (2) Buds.
Per a report by the Independent, the see-through colorway wasn’t meant to be part of the Studio Buds+ palette. It only became a thing after the brand shared mockups of the device to reveal its internals, and fans surprisingly took to the design.
The Studio Buds+ have purportedly 1.6 times better noise cancellation than the 2021 version, enhanced Transparency mode, up to 36 hours of listening time (and nine hours for the buds alone), 3X larger mics, and four ear tip options (XS, S, M, and L). It also has Apple and Android support, with one-touch pairing, and Siri compatibility.
Beats might be owned by Apple, but its Studio Buds+, priced at US$169.99, are considerably more affordable than the AirPods Pro. The Cupertino tech giant’s flagship earbuds, on the other hand, costs US$249. Every purchase of Studio Buds+ also comes with a free six-month trial of Apple Music.
If you’re all for the transparent Gameboy Color look, then you might also want to check out this mechanical keyboard that looks like a block of ice.
