Angelina Jolie Makes Foray Into Fashion With ‘Purpose-Driven’ Design Label
Soon, fashion enthusiasts will be able to shop at Atelier Jolie, the newly-launched brand by famed actress Angelina Jolie, which aims to be a “purpose-driven” initiative to bridge the gap between designers and customers.
According to the superstar, her label will differ from other luxury names in the market by connecting clients directly to a network of tailors, pattern makers, and artisans, who will create garments out of vintage fabrics and deadstock.
Jolie hopes this creative endeavor will render high fashion more accessible to the public while showcasing how an eco-friendly, circular clothing business can operate by upcycling unwanted materials.
“I’m starting something new today—a collective where everyone can create. Atelier Jolie is a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers, and artisans from around the world,” she said.
“It stems from my appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers I’ve worked with over the years, a desire to make use of the high-quality vintage material and deadstock fabric already available, and also to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression.”
