Fiat’s Custom 500 Spiaggina Embraces 1950s Nostalgia With Rattan Seats

Fiat has partnered with Italian heritage furniture company Bonacina and Garage Italia Customs to create a custom version of the Fiat 500 Spiaggina, evoking the nostalgic charm of the 1960s. This fully electric Fiat 500 Spiaggina showcases a design that combines retro aesthetics with modern technology.
The Fiat 500 Spiaggina, often called the “beach car,” symbolizes Italian style and the carefree spirit of the 60s. It was officially introduced in 1958 as a compact alternative for people looking to travel along the coastline. It had an open-top design and retro aesthetics that captured the essence of beach culture.
Bonacina draws inspiration from its archives and revisits Vittorio Bonacina’s custom builds, featuring rattan seats and rope doors. The aniline-dyed rattan chairs offer customization options, allowing customers to match their interiors with the exterior paintwork, even opting for vibrant colors like hot pink.
Garage Italia Customs, known for its expertise in converting classic cars to electric versions, applied its skills to the 500 Spiaggina. This electric version can be conveniently charged in just a few hours using a standard domestic power socket, offering flexibility for recharging during coastal trips along the picturesque Italian coastline.
For those yearning to experience “la dolce vita” this summer, the custom Fiat 500 Spiaggina is available for order through Garage Italia Customs.
