Porsche is racing to give living spaces a vibrant makeover. Teaming up with premium paint brand Backdrop, the automaker has unveiled a series of limited-edition paints drawn from its archival sports cars to mark its 75th anniversary.
These heritage hues bring four of Porsche’s signature supercar finishes to homes for the first time, enabling people to inject some of the brand’s spirit to their own abodes. The options add to the company’s existing array of 180 Paint to Sample choices in metallic and non-metallic textures.

The Porsche x Backdrop collection include Ruby Star, a deep magenta red seen on the Porsche 911, 928, and 944 since 1991; and Irish Green, a dark green that first appeared on the 356C in 1964.

There are also Riviera Blue, an electric blue rolled out in 1994 that is spotted on the 911, 928, and 968; and Speed Yellow, a bright yellow that emerged on the 911 in 1991. All in all, the colors drive home, literally, the effervescent energy of Porsche hypercars.
The paint cans, each priced at US$75 per gallon, are available to buy on the Backdrop website. In line with the launch, the pair has also created limited 75th-anniversary leather keychains to accompany every purchase, while supplies last.

Attributing a shared love of color, Backdrop’s co-founder Natalie Ebel describes: “Naturally, we jumped at the chance to work with an iconic brand like Porsche, which has always been synonymous with its bold, statement-making color palette.”

“It has been an absolute dream come true to collaborate with Porsche, especially during their 75th year, and to be inspired by its rich history. I am incredibly excited to translate our shared love of design and spirit of self-expression into a collection that will take on new life in our homes and on our walls.”
