Talk To Me, an upcoming horror movie by A24, is set to premiere on July 28, and it is inviting audiences to step right into the film as it takes shape on an island set in Fortnite.
The storyline of the movie revolves around a group of friends who stumble upon the terrifying ability to summon spirits with an embalmed hand. As players dive into the world of Fortnite, they will have the opportunity to explore the movie’s themes firsthand.
The integration has been incorporated into Fortnite Creative’s Deadpines: Zombie Survival game, where players have to eliminate zombies while solving the mystery behind the town of Deadpines. The Talk to Me version leverages the already eerie nature of the Deadpines while incorporating elements from the movie, such as players having to brave a torrential storm in search of a haunted house, where they will go up against spirits and other chilling monsters that lurk in the darkness.
Notable locations from the movie, including the Séance Room and Hospital, have been recreated in the game, populated with undead characters that players must navigate through.
The experience culminates in a boss fight outside the haunted mansion, where only the bravest will emerge victorious, earning valuable loot and XP.
Havas Entertainment conceived the gaming integration, advertisements, and the accompanying marketing campaign in collaboration with the Livewire Group. The metaverse game developer, Gamefam, created and developed the Talk To Me integration.
This collaboration between the film and gaming industries allows audiences to enter the horror universe and battle their way out. The campaign for the new island will run until August 13.
