When you think of Dunkin’, what comes to mind is likely a couple of donuts and some iced coffee to go. But tipsy on Dunkin’? Maybe not… yet.
Well, that’s about to change as the donut chain unveiled its newest venture: alcoholic beverages or, more specifically, ‘spiked’ iced coffees and teas.
First reported by Vine Pair, the yet-to-be-launched ‘Dunkin’ Spiked’ is set to serve up an assortment of boozy flavors. The spiked iced coffees were made with Harpoon Brewery and will feature original, caramel, mocha, and vanilla iterations. For those with a penchant for tea, the offerings include slightly sweet, half-and-half, strawberry dragonfruit, and mango pineapple options.
Regarding potency, the spiked coffees will pack a 6% alcohol by volume (ABV) punch, while their tea counterparts will contain a slightly lighter 5% ABV. It may not be enough to replace any real cocktails on a night out, but it will probably give you a light buzz during your coffee break.
While fans might have to wait for their taste in this innovative concoction, the company has already made strides. The official Dunkin’ website is live, and a few flavors secured approval from the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) back in May.
The exact launch date and respective prices hinge on securing the green light for all Dunkin’ Spiked variants from the TTB.
However, from its website, the drinks look to be sold in single cans, boasting a voluminous 19.2 ounces, and variety packs housing 12, each containing a more compact 12 ounces.
